Dreaming Big! The Story Project College Camp (sophomore through senior high school students) is a program for high school students who want to explore college possibilities. Most participants do not have a family history that includes college graduation. Participants engage in a three-day training that uses Story Project principles that will, in the end, assist them in mapping out their goals for the future in the professional/academic, personal, family and community domains. Youth explore their dreams, challenge their beliefs, break through self-defeating behaviors and set targets for change and success. Learning happens in groups where peer support and group enlightenment can take place under facilitation.

Experiential learning is pivotal in this program as students tour one to three colleges and hear a panel of college students present on their experience. A college “step by step plan” is developed by each student and staff assist each student in the plan’s implementation.
